Agreements

The BLET has several types of agreements that apply to our members. The types and they apply are listed below. Once signed agreements do not expire but can be cancelled or changed in several ways. Agreements can be modified by other agreements, arbitration awards and public law boards. 

• Local agreements apply to the our division and are sometimes shared with other divisions. 

• The coastlines agreement applies to all engineer jobs on the former coastlines. This agreement is the basis for most of our jobs. Many rules from this agreement have been modified by other agreements.

• System Agreements apply to former railroads. The system agreements we work under are the former Santa Fe agreements.

• National Agreements apply to all railroads nation wide.
